Jay A. Stephens Hon. AIA |Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Jay A. Stephens Hon. AIA has more than 30 years of legal experience, beginning as a judicial law clerk with the U.S. Court of Claims, progressing to private practice, and currently serving as Vice President and General Counsel of the AIA. Jay served as Deputy General Counsel for the American Gas Association from 1997 to 2000, and has been General Counsel of the AIA since September 2000. He became an Honorary Member of the AIA in 2013.
Jay was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 1981 and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Federal, Sixth and Seventh Circuits, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Jay earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California (Santa Cruz) and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of Association Executives, where he serves on the ASAE Legal Section Council.

Her portfolio of projects includes the Architecture Billings Index, Compensation Survey, and Firm Survey. She works closely with the AIA’s Chief Economist, Kermit Baker, Hon. AIA, to analyze data and present it in a way that is relevant and meaningful to the architecture profession. Jennifer is a native Washingtonian and enjoys relaxing and traveling with her husband and bernese mountain dog.

Donovan Olliff, AIA, is the chair of HOK’s diversity advisory council, which focuses on inclusion, fairness in opportunity, respect and integration within HOK’s diverse international practice. On a day-to-day basis, Donovan, who holds a degree in architecture, serves as HOK’s assistant general counsel.
